Some time ago I made a post sharing GLHF, a short film that is one of my favourite things on the internet. And now I've played the first Part of Kitten Burst, the follow-up(?) game, and I have to say, I think it's got to be one of my favourite games. I knew, from liking @jam2go's prior work, that the music and general aesthetic would be my kind of thing, but Kitten Burst still managed to surprise me. The aesthetic is wonderful, the music slaps and the vibes are immaculate - I more or less expected as such - but I was not expecting the writing to be this perfect mix of Intriuging Lore and genuinely funny, or that I would get so into the racing parts as somebody with little experience in time-trial type games or this particular sort of controller-recommended 3D movement. It's all just so nicely done! I'm very excited to see where this game goes in its next two parts (which are of course not out yet because, early access)... I might (and might not) end up posting more about this game's particular sort of nostalgic (but not utopian) vision of the internet in the meantime.
