...for the first time in about five years. This update includes some notes from me when I went exploring, and some research on the mysterious "grid anomaly" at the edge of the galaxy. There are now exactly 29999 named objects in the database! (Quick, somebody submit another inbox so we can get to 30000). If you download Noctis IV or Noctis IV+* now, you'll already have the updated data. Or you can download the new files directly and add it to an installation you already have.
There's so much more in the Starmap than what was just added this update, so you're unlikely to find any of the planets I've named by chance. Still, now you can visit the places I've sent screenshots of and see what I wrote about them, and I think that's cool.
*NIV+ adds some bug fixes and convenience features to the original game and has extra instructions included in the download for running it on modern systems (because it's still a DOS game). Crucially the generation is all the same so the Guide and Starmap are shared with the original. If you're playing for the first time you probably want to use this one.
