okay so has anybody else thought that the Dolly Parton song 9 To 5 should really have a third verse where she unionises her workplace? it's a short song that ends in a couple repeats of the chorus, a third verse would probably work well, and the last verse even seems to imply... something should happen next in the story:
They let you dream just to watch 'em shatter
You're just a step on the bossman's ladder
But you've got dreams he'll never take away
In the same boat with a lot of your friends
Waitin' for the day your ship'll come in
And the tide's gonna turn an' it's all gonna roll your way
Or maybe that's just me. At least, even if it's not in the song itself, in the film the song was written for, Dolly Parton and her coworkers do accidentally(?) attempt to murder their terrible boss, and then kidnap him and drastically improve the conditions in their workplace while he is kidnapped. So I guess the story still has a good ending.
