Thanks for playing, everyone. I'll see you around.

If you find that your shoelaces come untied frequently, and the bow sits vertically along the shoe instead of horizontally across it, reverse the direction you tie the starting knot — right-over-left instead of left-over-right and vice versa. If the two parts of the knot are tied in alternating directions, it will be significantly more secure, and you can verify you've done this correctly by seeing that the knot lies horizontally across the shoe. Actually not really, I'm a Beams fan and I think the Shoe Thieves would prefer if you tied your shoes worse so they could steal them more easily. This information is actually from Ian's Shoelace Site, a website made by one man who has put twenty years of work into collecting shoelace information despite, apparently, not caring much about shoelaces before he started making it. And it's absolutely incredible, I mean, this is more information on shoelaces than I think any one person could possibly ever use. This is it. The Shoelace Forbidden Knowledge. It's a bit frightening really.

When I learned this a few years back it was literally life changing. It came to me with a video that had captured a shoe untying in high def slow motion which was a) very cool and b) extremely validating to watch happen; I always thought it was like, the ends getting caught or something and me somehow not noticing that despite that being the kind of thing I would Very Notice.
