i think if you give multiple melee attacks per round of combat based on character level you are automatically in my good books
ideally magic users should be given a flat value and a bonus based on character level as well for spells if they cannot cast more than once in a round. also everyone should be able to crit, crit chances should go over 100% for a chance to Double Crit.
character levels should go up whatever max int is reasonable. stats should go up to 256 with bonuses applied at scaling amounts. alongside all these incredible boons enemy encounters should max out at the hundreds.
spells should be party/group wide at a base minimum. make less enemies immune to status effects, give PCs more options than the safe best option, turn based combat is best when it's mindless for trash mobs and strategic for those that demand attention.
