horrifying nakedness felt on my left wrist realizing it's been years since ive had a Casio F91W on it. since those stupid things are unbreakable i just never took it off uhh, ever. for years. just showered and slept with it on until the strap broke. went without up until a hurricane came and knocked out our power so i bought another one to have an alarm and went more years just, having it on my wrist until of course the strap broke. no moral.

idly browsing around for watches and of course amazon tells me that last time i ordered a F91W (2021) which is also when i ordered my new balances that remain my only pair of shoes that of course are severely fucking worn. this also means i had my story twisted around and the first time i purchased it was post hurricane blackout and then i went online for my second one. also just looking at all the other alternatives in the price range of (very cheap) and they're all too fucking big. there's too much shit on watches, make em less like that imo.

my birthday is on friday and this post inspired me to get one, thank you. i have it's fancier cousin the A158W but it's just slightly too nice for me lol. i need a watch i dont feel bad knocking around. plus i can't find my Databank RIP

my buddy who's big into collecting watches called it the "unibomber special" due to it's notoriety and that made me love em even more.
my favorite part is they are small enough to wear military style on the inner wrist without issue so i could just look down at it while carrying stuff. but yeah they're great, the battery and the watch itself lasts a lifetime but the rubber strap will always be the failure point. i know folks make their own paracord replacement straps for em and w/e but i just never bothered.
all the same welcome to the fold, when you wear it you'll see what everyone who has ever owned a F91W was saying when they say "it's a watch"
