i dont really care for the massive disconnect that is built into the processes that create the products we consume because duh exploitation of workers and the blood that is spilt in order for people to buy stuff. and on another level there's just an overall yuck factor given especially here in the states on food preparation that should honestly have as many eyes and understanding brains dedicated to it as possible.
like, pistachios are actually hideously dangerous to transport especially in the context of cargo holds on ships. they continue to absorb oxygen and excrete CO2, so when you have a massive amount of em in one place in a sealed hold, you just have these spots in the hold that you'll pass out (and die) in. Also they'll just fucking catch fire on their own due to the fat content. people should know about this shit man, I don't know.
