seeing this game pop up time and time again has always fucking fascinated me because it's basically laser focused on the prep screen aspect of impossible odds xcom alien threat. you are met with an purposely obtuse ui and little proper explanation other than "tune and outfit mechs and shove pilots in them to complete missions" with incredibly granular control over every piece of kit in a mech, also you have very limited control over the mechs(pilots) in missions, also you're on a walking city in a post alien invasion apocalypse.

do i want to play this? probably actually not. do i still think it looks incredibly interesting? i mean fucking duh just look at it.

I have played the demo. I can confirm it goes full hog on that xcom angle. It's hard to understand the effects and interactions of many things directly without a lot of experimentation. It makes it feel like an old game, in a good way. The balancing is seems wacky and random too, which reminds me of old games in a less good way. The dev was working hard on it while I played the demo though, so that might have improved by now
