lapsang souchong. nearly out but im imagining the incredible smokey flavor for tea eggs. im holding my head in my hands looking at where i last got it now years ago and these days it's 150 bucks for a kilo.

That's like, for prepared volume, still cheaper than canned coca cola. Now, canned coca cola is actually way too expensive, but it's also a common thing that people drink and dont feel is expensive.
Good tea is worth it.
one kilo for around 166 "full" set of 6 infusions is certainty value. 6 grams for my 100 ml brewing vessel means i get 600 ml of real usable liquor out of most teas. many years ago when i had actual dollars i spent a hideous amount on teas but all these years later it was still certainty worth it. just that upfront cost is always despair inducing.
