Around the year 1000 I noticed that the world became obsessed with The Tower. Book after book about The Tower was released. This was the golden age of the Tower Freaks. The most notable release at this time was “The Tower, My Love”. Over the next few hundred years this infatuation cooled and the books became more dry, treatises and histories and other such things. 2000 years after the initial fad the book “The Tower: A New Approach” was written. The Tower never fully left the minds of Ruspbuzong’s inhabitants. Throughout its 10,000 year history books about The Tower continued to be written, albeit at a slower pace after the Tower Freak’s golden reign in 1000.
I intend to dig deeply into Legends and learn more about The Tower and the history of Ruspbuzong but the most dominant development was of course the necromancer towers. Very early on they began spreading everywhere. On the continent I focused on during generation over a dozen towers covered the isthmus connecting the two sub-continents. I can’t see it being easy to live or trade in this area if you aren’t undead.
The last 2000 years consisted primarily of book releases, the majority of them by necromancers, damned slayers and forlorn hunters, in that order.
Ruspbuzong is still in the Age of Myth.
There are still pockets of non-undead civilizations but they are the exception. The world is largely dominated by the undead. Ruspbuzong is truly The Eternal World.
Addendum: I am absolutely going to embark in this world over and over and see how far I get. I will start someplace quiet and hopefully I get enough migrants and traders but we shall see! When Adventure Mode is added I will be adventuring in this world as well.
