i don't want to get in the weeds with it much but i mentioned awhile ago that i perfectly understand what people are saying when they say "American" and it refers singularly to those in the United States but also it feels reductive as shit to continue using it that way when there's you know a lot of other countries in that actual broad scope continent of America other than the U.S., there's North America+ and a whole central and southern section from what i understand. if you want to sap power from the overwhelming presence of the U.S. you gotta stop reinforcing the monolith in any little way you can.
