i correctly believe like the helper software Where Are We? (An automapping retrofit for Might and Magic® 1-5, Wizardry® 1-5, and Bard's Tale® 1-3) that hooks into dosbox and maps things out as you explore, there should be similar functions for console based dungeon crawlers since bizhawk and the like can read game data on fly.
