probably a minor thing, but i really like how in 5-2 you can just slide into the distance and you’ll end up looping back to the level
game design-wise it makes more sense than putting an invisible wall and forcing the player to stop midslide and drown
but lore-wise it’s a great example of how hell doesn’t follow the same rules as earth, and how it was created to be a hostile place. not just because of demons and stuff but because the space itself is actively tormenting the human souls that are damned to spend eternity there
