I've been told I'm a person

Human life is more important
than property values.
All human beings deserve to be treated like human beings, not just straight white cisgendered males born in the US or its allies.

Gir Kybo Ren-Cha, commonly known as Kybo Ren, was a male Ropagu space pirate active during the early years of the Galactic Empire. Operating out of a base on his homeworld of Tarnoonga, Ren's crew frequently raided shipping in the vicinity of the planet Tammuz-an.

I also love the possibility that after decades of many people coming up with names in Star Wars you just can't make name-like noises without getting kinda close to something that already exists

No clue if this is what's happening here but there's a long running thing in both Lucas and non-Lucas Star Wars stuff of drawing on unused character and place names from drafts of previous works (for instance, the name "Mace Windu" appears in the original 1973 draft outline of what would eventually become Star Wars), so one possibility is that both pulled from some third draft or brainstorm list or something and they either didn't notice or didn't care that that name had been used before in a little-remembered and no longer official canon cartoon

Since the Disney buyout Star Wars has been operating the same way as the MCU: Look at all this previously written work, find the stuff you like in it, and use it however you like. There are absolutely MCU characters that are just the name of some obscure guy in Marvel comics with little to nothing else in common.
