it looks like last week google quietly dropped an alternative to their ai-infused ad-bar-first questionable-summary search presentation last week. If you choose "web" in its list of search filters (up where you can choose video or shopping or whatever) you'll get something that apparently induces a viscerally calming sensation in me--no summary, no ads, just a list of links and snippets from said links.
