Y'know someone said recently that the easiest way people gain attention to build themselves in a fandom or a community is to attack someone else. Starting to see that everywhere when it comes to politics on youtube and twitch.
Even if people are needlessly pedantic about something but end up agreeing with the people they're attacking anyway.
