Just had some get unreasonably angry at the insinuation that 'Leftism' was even a word, much less one that encompasses Socialist ideals. "Only uneducated people use that word" etc.

The way I understand it, it's just shorthand for everything anti-capitalist.

I just think it's rich that someone thinks they're too good for simplicity in, what I should hope would be widely understood by the working class without having to read theory.

I totally agree. Like I just use leftist as short hand for anti-capitalist and anti-white supremacist beliefs. People get too bogged down in "well what are your exact beliefs about the way we should do every single part of revolution" when all they really need to know is I'm as left as can be in this country.

Definitely putting the cart miles before the horse. In the US the two party system is so deeply ingrained between center-right and blatantly fascist at this point that democratic change might take a century assume the best conditions.

I believe there's something to be said about taking lessons from the past and not repeating previous attempts verbatim, but let's address the US government being 100% willing to kill it's own citizens to keep that from being an option.
