I am going to get a strong talking-to about being to forgiving with customers.
When I was hired they said I had the ability to act "within my discretion" on certain things and as far as I'm concerned that's what I was doing.
I do feel a little accomplished by fixing a piece of equipment I'm not expected to. Not that it was anything complicated but I was able to remember it accurately and have a pretty solid diagnosis on it before I even started.
