Y'know I was thinking after someone was bringing up Pelican 1 and Eagle 1; does that mean they're the only one on the sortie that mission or do you keep your place for your entire squadron?
So like: either Eagle 1 is de facto name for whoever flies that mission because they're the only one there or he's the CO that flies every single mission.
