Maybe I'm jaded but- let's say at my job we've been asked to use a new "app" with customers. They sent out a little pamphlet, I'm assuming to make sure the lights are on and to legally disclose our side of things.

One page.
That was the switch between "we believe in transparency and security with your information" to "here's a list of people we're selling this to"

I'm surprised they even get away with that because legally we're not allowed to keep that stuff on file. I haven't read their client ToS but I really despise dishonesty. I have straight up told people about this. Most continue anyway. A few begrudgingly so. I think I've only had two people refuse.

Remember to be safe and generally large companies don't need this extra data from you. It's a bullshit reason. Making money for them for free while being less secure.
