In addition to that last post, I'm frustrated I can't absorb knowledge fully. Or maybe I could and it was just casual conversation? It's why memorizing part numbers and acronyms is so difficult for me. They all sort of jumble together.

Maybe I'm not sitting down and practicing enough and expecting to understand it like some sort of genius polymath.

I've been without my adhd medicine for a while but I don't think I was much better on it. I just knew how bad things were.

I'll start by saying you'll have to forgive me if I make anyone feel old. I never claim to be learned in everything so I'll take the opportunity to talk to my coworker about his time in IT. Even now I'm struggling to remember all of the details:

As it goes, we we're talking about billionaires and Gates came up. He explained to me that there was a time before stuff like "COPY" and you had to use a completely different program to duplicate things on your computer. That "MODE" was one of the most complex and versatile commands in DOS. That even if Gates 'stole' the idea for COPY he rewrote it and I guess simplified it? (I'm a little hazy here)

The point of all this being that it's easy to take for granted what we have. Truly, we stand on the shoulders of giants.
