OK so I've heard an endless amount of American and other western opinions on the great leap forward but, like, what does China actually think about it?

I don't think Mao woke up and kicked puppies every morning. Things could have been done better and, I'll admit that's easy for me to say several decades later and with the benefit of knowing much more than they possibly could have about what would happen.

At work? I can't help it. I know that literally makes 0 sense with how difficult it has been trying to keep friendships going but I digress.

So I'm talking to this guy and it really nailed home the difference between my generation and the ones previous.

So I forgot how we got on the topic, but he said he used to drive a bunch of tractors and whatever else for Lockheed Martin. I said "No kidding? That sounds like an interesting job" his comment was that there was a lot of friction between the union and management. I said "yall had a union?" So get this: not only a union but 18 to 20$/hr in the 80s on that gig. I nearly choked on my water.

Don't get me wrong, of the jobs I've had this is the best one by a mile, but they're fucking me with hours and pay. I blame myself for fucking up testing and having to take this job in the first place, but it is what it is.

I got a bluesky but I'm too lazy to get on my computer to remember the creditials. I don't wanna reset my password right now either.

Oh well. What little I saw of it, it's definitely small. I'd have to take a minute and find everyone again.

It was a little annoying that there wasn't word filters from what I could see? It's probably a fool's errand at this point but if I'm starting over I wanted to try and make my experience a little less stressful. For my sake.

Of course that said, it doesn't really replace this place. There's more of a vibe here that I wish I could cross post to tumblr for the handful of people that still follow me there.
