One of the many hobby distractions I hold is trying desperately to resurrect my Linux-on-laptop experience on a Thinkpad X13s, which is Lenovo's first actual ARM64 laptop. Its light, fanless, and extremely power efficient nature makes it an attractive choice for yolo-ing around on the go, and as a result I've been using Windows 11 + Insider builds on it since release.
Because I work with containerized Linux and Linux toolchains a lot, I tried to get Fedora under WSL2 running - this was something of a messy and battery-drawing mistake as I found myself wrestling systemd and compromising on developer ergonomics ("haha time to restart hyper-v again because everything is frozen") that prevented me from living a consistent Linux life. Eventually I gave up on this, and now use Visual Studio Code to ssh into an x86 VM on my home network over Tailscale.
Earlier this month Linux 6.0 landed with some support for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, so I took the opportunity to try to boot it with jhohisel/custom-ubuntu-arm64-livecd. It's a bit messy and you need to disable SecureBoot, but heck that's basically what I want.
Hopefully it's not too long to wait for Fedora - maybe I'll even boot rawhide for it.
