So many things ending and winding-down and baking dry in the hot late-summer sun. I'm grateful to have been there for what was good, and I'm grateful that there's time for some of these endings to come gracefully. I'm even grateful that some of these things are ending, because they'll make room for new things in my life. But it feels a little catastrophic, this level of synchronicity. Little things, big things, most seeming completely unrelated. There's cohost of course, but there's also the end of support for my email client and the impending need to replace my long-loved phone. One of my current favorite podcasts, which I only just found early this year, is preparing for its final episode. My partner's on the cusp of career changes, our housemates are making plans to move out in a few months, a couple good friends just moved away across the country, the weekly call my immediate family has maintained since the start of the pandemic just went to every other week... so very many things shifting and changing colors.
I'm not ready for winter, yet. But I guess that's what the next few months are for.
