Calling all Wisconsinites
Details:
- Where: Olbrich Park, on the shore of Lake Monona. Will meet at the picnic tables near the basketball courts by The Biergarten.
- When: Sunday, October 6th at 1:00PM, though you're welcome to arrive early
- Who: Any friend of eggbug who wants to come! Minors welcome, but please bring a trusted adult.
- What: A get-together to celebrate cohost and the things that made it special. Plan for 1-2 hours of unstructured time for conversation, recreation, an optional group photo, and maybe having a picnic (bring/buy your own treats, no glass or outside alcohol allowed). The park has open fields, a beach, a variety of sports courts, and The Biergarten (which serves food and drinks to adults 21+). If folks are interested, the Olbrich Botanical Gardens are also a half-mile walk away and are open 10AM-4PM.
- How: The park is accessible by bus, bike, or car! Note that Olbrich Park has a few different parking lots/entrances, so put the Biergarten into your navigation tool of choice rather than the park itself. Masks required, I will have a box of N95s on hand to share if anyone needs one. We'll meet outside the Biergarten first in case anyone under 21 would like to attend, as they aren't allowed in there without a parent/guardian to supervise. The park has some picnic tables, but if a lot of us show up it may be wise to bring a chair or blanket to sit on. I'll be wearing my grey eggbug t-shirt and a wide-brimmed black hat.
I dunno if there's many of us on here, but hey worst case I get to go have a picnic by myself! Figured with there being meetups in Chicago and Minneapolis already, it was worth setting up something for those of us somewhere in the middle.
If you're interested in coming, feel free to let me know in the comments or via an ask or direct message (my accounts are on my profile). I can spin up a group on Discord, Telegram, or whatever other messaging service folks prefer to help coordinate things, but feel free to reach out to me directly on the day of as well!
