the end sequence of the latest ep (7) of Delicious In Dungeon is just the best.

The joy is the worldbuilding in such a wild level of detail - the kraken has parasites, and as Senshi says, everything has parasites, including the parasites. The reason for the lack of mid level monsters was not people dynamiting the small fish, but the presence of an apex predator. And there's a hint of classic predator prey population dynamics.
All of which is very... Lore. And people hate lore. Like, this is the kind of joy you get from posting on Wookiepedia. But also it's the kind of lore that is not about shutting down possibilities but expanding out the sense of the world. Look into the stock monsters that populate a dungeon, ask how they can all be there, what do they eat, where does the poop go, all these logistical questions... and actually the world opens up and you get wildly inventive answers, just from focusing on the practicalities.
And also, while admittedly most of my wild glee comes from the worldbuilding - it's also about the characters. In this end sequence, Senshi is being a wise know it all - but is doing it about admitting that he's wrong and actually he didn't know best after all. Marcille is hating eating monster food - but is talking about how octopus and squid is super delicious, and enjoying what is basically eel. And Laius is enthusiastically eating monsters, even when ill advised - and it's totally ill advised, what the hell, bad idea dude. All characters acting exactly to type, and getting results that are a surprising twist on what they usually get.
Anyway, it's great & I've been enjoying the show a lot.
