Hi there! I was wondering whether you could point me toward a good (ch)iframes tutorial for embedding Downpour games in coposts. I'm eager to do more with Downpour! Thanks for your time (and platform!).
hello! yes! honestly it's not much of a tutorial, but here's how i do it:
- go to https://cohost.org/easrng/post/358091-new-chiframe-feature
- enter the URL of your downpour game
- i normally put the settings to "full width" and 700 high, but you can do what you like
- click over to the code tab
- copy the code
- paste into a Cohost post
- draw the rest of the owl
- press the "post now" button
- that's the end of the tutorial
i should say, actually, that my ambition long term is to get iframely (the service Cohost uses) to generate embeds for Downpour links. at which point you will be able to just drop in the Downpour URL & it'll embed itself nicely, the same way that Youtube links work. but i think i need to get a bit more traffic first so they feel like it's worth whitelisting me. got the oEmbed endpoints running already and everything.
