Stop saying a good game is bad because you were told some magical imperceptible number declares it so. That's gatekeeping, that's anti-fun, that's monumentally stupid on levels that would make Cthulhu go insane, and I hate that it's the main current unquestioned mainstream opinion of gaming right now.

Who the absolute fuck gives a flying fuck about framerate. Do you know what means? I'll tell you what it DOESN'T mean, absolutely anything. The animation plays for the same amount of time on every framerate, increasing or decreasing doesn't change shit. So why the abso-fucking-lute fuck do you give a flying shit about it? YOU SHOULDN'T!!!

You may be thinking about "Lag", but guess what, FRAMERATE IS AN ENTIRELY SEPARATE CONCEPT!! Framerate is so far removed from lag that it's like blaming the weather in Antarctica for your personal taste in food. Does it make sense? Well you're not eating Penguin, so I assume it doesn't.

I refuse to entertain any opinion involving framerates ever, so please, instead of crying about the fact that your animation is animated CORRECTLY, how about pointing out REAL FLAWS in gaming?

Fuck framerates, I'll take whines about graphics over that overly petty shit. I'll take whines about call of duty over that. Seriously, I remember when games were solely judged on a vague idea of graphics that could never be properly shown or compared. I hated that era with a firey passion. You framerate junkies are making wish for that era to come back.

unless they are e sports level competitive and they really can tell the milliseconds of delay that is being offered past that i feel its unnesasary

in general its just wasted energy and i doubt you motherfuckers are crows so you will not tell the difference 99.9 percent of the time

overall i go graphics over frames as anything past 30 fps looks the same to me unless its a fighting game designed for 60 fps. in that case i will try to go for performance as the whole game is designed around that framerate and the game is noticably slower

but besides that i always go for max graphics as long as the game can run at 30 or higher in everything from racing games to first person shooters

for me frames do not win games and i dont buy into that bullshit

i go for graphics first and if a game can run at max graphics at 120fps i dont uncap the framerate because my game does not need to be running at fucking 500 fps for no goddamn reason

idk, i wouldn't call a game bad because of framerate (unless it drops low enough to make me motion sick, which is rare and definitely also depends on the game itself, but has happened) but it does seem a bit much to say i shouldn't care about it ever? games physically feel smoother and more responsive for me at higher framerates, so i'm going to prefer them that way

edit: also in general, if your tech allows you to run at higher framerates without sacrificing what you're going for, it's probably better all around. framerate-independent logic means your game will probably be able to behave normally at lower framerates as well as higher ones which is great for lower end hardware, and being able to hit higher framerates means your game probably performs better on, again, lower end stuff, it helps everywhere

I'mma be real dude, I disagreed until the third paragraph. I always think a high framerate is good, and that the best framerate is probably 120 (30 feels like absolute ass, and 600+ is fucking overkill). However, as you mentioned, Lag and Framerate are not the same thing. A higher framerate can theoretically make your button presses more responsive and prevent lag, but they're not a perfect solution to mitigating lag. A lot of my devices are laggy as shit and can't really play many games well, but that's more a problem of processing power and not framerates. Not only that, but most of my screens are 60hz (basically 60FPS), and they function perfectly fine granted the device itself can run at 60.

I definitely disagree with that last bit tho. "I'll take whines about graphics over [framerates]". I fucking HATE when folks complain about graphics, because most of the time the people who say it don't want really cool stylized graphics, but rather want all videogames to be as photorealistic as possible. Graphics don't really mean much if the game plays like ass, and a team can overcome it by using a striking style that hides the flaws instead of pushing the graphics cards to their limits. I'll concede that Framerates aren't as important as I first thought, but I don't think I can ever take someone complaining about graphics seriously unless they're distractingly bad (which unfortunately is more common than I'd like to admit).
