but I'm tired of hearing "it's a good year for games." well over 4,000 people have lost their jobs because of this industry just since January. Good video games are nothing without the people who make them.

40+ more layoffs, over 2000+ more people without jobs. The numbers might get higher but the result is the same: a games industry with less institutional knowledge, less creativity, less ability to make the kinds of games that people point to when they say "but what about all the Good Video Games that came out? Why shouldn't we celebrate them??"
