Oh, hey, the scp-int project has been gathering steam! There's lots of English translations of SCPs from other countries! I wonder what non-Western cultures have been doing with the SCP Foundation concept. The horror genre is a reflection of real-life fears, and those are inherently culturally specific.

Let's start with scp-zh--I can read Traditional Chinese just fine, but it's a good baseline to start with, to see how well the translators accommodate cultural differences in collaborative horror storytelling. Hey, this one looks like a good scip to start with.

Hey, this scip is pretty well written, despite being poorly translated.

...

Oh. Oh, I see where this is going.

...

Well, shit. I guess I should have seen this coming. I guess I did.

SCP-ZH-228. Takes place in 1947. Ha.

Taiwanese contributors made their collective national trauma over the White Terror an anomalous event, and the 1940s era Kuomintang Garrison Command a hostile Group of Interest.

There is something very, very heavy about this, and it's going to have to sit with me for a while.

(edit) Unsurprisingly, the Chinese Foundation also depicts the historical Kuomintang Party as an anomaly, but borne out of an opposite political hostility.
