the Pluto anime has people talking about how relevant the themes still are which is true, but it's interesting to me how the internet does not exist in that universe. Like it's this scifi setting all about super advanced ai and robots but the depiction of telecom technologies basically amounts to very fancy phones. And like it makes sense given the manga started in 2003 and was based on a vision of the future from the 60s, but its really funny that this is one of the only ways the series has aged.



I love how in the Pluto anime they actually include the distortion from glasses lenses on characters that wear them and they even have different types of distortion to mimic the way lenses for both near and farsightedness would. It's such a neat bit of attention to detail that I don't think I've ever seen in another anime.
