A follow-up to the vignette; what's more snapshot-Americana than a smog-choked Landau-top-bedecked Mustang II with a decaying 70s cookie-cutter suburban house behind it?
This will be part of my automotive exhibition almost for certain, which is funny, because I explicitly made a rule for myself to keep homes out of the material I was shooting for this series (to make the cars feel more alienated from the landscape we've built for them). I, inevitably, saw this scene and immediately broke that rule. What I should have really learned by now is to not make rules like that and just shoot what looks good. if it ends up not fitting, whoops, I just have a good picture.
Small Postcards From the End of the World update: books are arriving at my house for signature and shipping Monday. I have a press trip Tue-Thu, but I will try and have them all mailed out by the weekend (domestically; international is going to be a bit more of a challenge lol).
