this isn't actually that far from my place. Last time I went out exploring about a month ago with my partner, I saw the sign and the classic car as we headed up the mountain on the right-hand side of this photo, and I mentally added this place as one to shoot at in the future.
then, shortly after, came the time I was followed and threatened for night photography, and I haven't left my house to take a picture (or really do much of anything) in three weeks, a long long time for me. I decided yesterday I was ready to go out again, and I was going to get just one shot, but it would count.
I went back to this spot. I found the guy who owned the place, I waved, I asked if I could shoot; he didn't mind. I took out my tripod and resolved to get my one good photo, and close this unpleasant chapter of fear as best as I could.
it's pleasing when you get such a satisfying composition out of apparent chaos, isn't it?
