@kirbymacintosh on here complimented my work recently by saying my "portrayal of America is beautiful while still brutally honest. It makes me hopeful for what living here could be, even hopeful for what it can be right here right now."
I have never thought of my work this way before and I swear to God it's making me re-evaluate all of my photographs anew. I've always thought much smaller: seattle, cap hill, in this moment, through my eyes - the idea that this is a vision of this country that could portray hope makes me want to cry.
