a while ago i decided to catch up with mbmbam after falling off right around the same time everyone else did and man. if you thought "how does the show survive without yahoo answers" like i did, the answer is both "better than youd expect" and "worse than youd expect". the new theme after the mcelroys were like. ground zero for bean dad, its pretty good. it is kind of a jam. and wikihow actually holds a lot of the castle down in terms of replacing yahoo answers. in the main body of the show.

but also, in the 2 years since yahoo answers died they have not replaced the final yahoo effectively. at the end of the episode i just finished, released on 7/10/2023 - a mere 2 months ago - the ending bit is them like, they each sing a single, beautiful note. they finish their housekeeping announcing liveshows and stuff, and then they sing their single tones, and the show ends.

it feels like a fever dream.

yeah, i fell off at the same time too. the wikihow stuff is pretty frequently just as hilarious and i also miss the final yahoo, but the actual reason i do not listen anymore: the munch zone and extended justin character bits that make episodes unlistenable for me. they put me to sleep better than the money zone and i dont even think theyre getting paid for those. for me the episodes basically end halfway through

right. like. i dont know how i wound up in a position where i was rooting for travis of all brothers tearing into justin because justin's bits were too rancid but by god did i wind up there somehow. with strange aeons even riddles may piss, or whatever

for all the flak he gets, travis' bits are really good imo.

like, for one thing, travis knows how to play the heel effectively. all of his bits are saw traps for his brothers. so on top of whatever potty humor he's doing, there's always the extra joke of how much his brothers hate it, and that's usually enough to make me laugh

but most crucially, they never go on too long, so even if one isnt a winner its not too bad for the episode. theyre way shorter than questions or wikihows, and absolutely shorter than the half-show-long justin corner.
