one of my favorite things in programming is that i'm not necessarily an outsider but i am definitely not invested in the minutiae of a lot of languages, like. if it gets the job done, the job gets done. but i'm looking at my options for rewriting the bdth site and i'm looking at the doctrine for rails and it's kind of like staring into the abyss. like. "this exists to make Me happy" cool manifesto dude, this tells me nothing. how much hair pulling out will i be doing when i try and build a comics website on it.

not too long ago i started reading why's guide to ruby and i got too scared to keep going. i understand that ruby should be enjoyable to use but i could not wrap my head around the kind of person that guide was trying to appeal to
oh i saw that on their recommendations page but didnt check it out. i'm looking at it now and i understand completely, but it's not a kind of person i respect
