After running multiple year-long, ready made campaigns (with bending the text and improv where dictated by player action, of course), it is both a nervous and refreshing feeling to get back into some "Fuck it, I'll wing it"-GMing. It does make me nervous as hell a few hours before gametime, looking at my tiny amount of prep, last session notes and some thrown-together maps for illustration, but actually playing and creating villains out of whole cloth that the players literally go "I hate him and want to hit him with a hammer as soon as possible" is extremely rewarding.
I am going to sleep so well after this though, lol.
