Looks like Rob Bredow, a producer on Solo: A Star Wars Story, wants fans to come together and ask for a sequel. I'm all in.
I've always felt in the vast minority when I say that Solo is my favourite Star Wars film (not overall installment, that title goes to Clone Wars). Yes, out of all of them. Even the originals. I love it, to death. Everything about it, from start to finish, even the part that could only be described as Not The Best Guardians of the Galaxy. But maybe the hype is bigger now than before? Or perhaps it was always there, but had been drowned out? Are there enough fans to make a sequel a reality?
Because yes, Rob, as I've said since the credits rolled, I 1000% want a sequel. We need more of this little area of Star Wars history. I NEED to see more of Han and Chewie's wild west adventures, as well as Crimson Dawn, Maul, and the Cloud Riders. I want action and adventure, wild speeder chases, more train fights, maybe even give it the Indiana Jones treatment. It has SO much potential and I just need it injected into my veins.
I love Kathleen Kennedy, but what she said about not wanting to do recasts after Solo's negative reception could only come from a place of detached ignorance and feeds into a mentality that will sap the creativity from the franchise (that isn't to say I don't also support a certain level of deepfakes--I think there's a place for both). Alden Ehrenreich did a fantastic job and he deserves so much praise. I wanna see him back in the saddle.
So I really hope a sequel happens. I hope this is a call to action and the fans demand for another installment.
