from The Palestine Laboratory, chapter 1
Tadiran Israel Electronics Industries (now merged with Elbit Systems) installed a computer surveillance / listening center in assisting Guatemala with suppressing dissent through a variety of ways after the coup in the 50s. [Some of this had to do with their leadership growing to espouse Israeli sentiment towards Palestinians as their own sentiment towards indigenous Mayans in Guatemala]
then also, noting the 1) intention to destroy and remove archives and historical documentation of Palestine & Palestinians, 2) precedent of prisoner exchange in order to secure these stolen archives.

We start to see the shape of Israel's move away from dependency on the US, towards intentionally developing an economy that thrives via business in its military, defense, intelligence, surveillance, & arms/weaponry industries.
9/11 was monetized, but everything about the resulting militarism is entirely compatible with neoliberal democracy. data collection & mass surveillance are essential pieces of that.
As is implementing computerized dehumanization in a variety of ways. Almost every country wants to be able to monitor and control some or all of their population in some capacity. These "AI" tools? Train themselves on Palestinians under occupation; gamifying the process for Israelis using the technology or collecting information for databases.
Covers Israel's use of social media as an element of warfare, and to maintain their occupation of Palestine. Memes, appeals to diversity & social justice, & obfuscation as information war tactic (which the US/CIA now adopts). Also assesses the falsehood of "accuracy" in high-tech weaponry; analyzing the shift in warfare in 2021 (sadly foreshadowing what we've seen since 2023). Points out US manufacturing & supplying of bombs. Russia as Israel's customer. Israel's NSA; Unit 8200. COVID-19 used as an excuse to increase surveillance, all while praised in the media for doing so (and denying Palestinians COVID treatment and vaccines).
"Being able to see Israeli atrocities against Palestinians doesn't work with people who do not view Palestinians as human beings, [but as] a racial group who deserve punishment and death. As the Israeli population has moved to the right, moral discomfort is rare."
