good read for getting caught up on whats happening at the texas / mexico border rn. while i dont think its cause for paranoia or massive alarm (although it is disgusting and disturbing how pro-death of immigrants this country is), its worth keeping up with to some extent bc the collapse of the federal US govt is going to be a running theme in the next decade

this is formally known as the "Standoff at Eagle Pass" rn i believe

It's so disgusting. Decades of American interference have created these conidtions in Mexican society. Do people really think that Mexicans cross the border "illegally" just for fun? Of course not! They leave everything behind just to find somewhere to live decently, escaping the horrors that cartels and gangs created thanks to past presidents ruining the economy and culture. Swimming through the Rio Grande, crossing vastly enormous deserts with nothing but water (most times not enough water), spending their life savings on "polleros" (truck drivers hiding people in their trunks like chickens (pollos)).

This is a good song from the Mexican band "Molotov" (ENG subtitles) and an article explaining it. No one is invading the border, we just want better opportunities in the richest nation of North America. But apparently this is impossible thanks to ridiculous protocols in the border and systemic corruption on both sides.

Sorry for the kind-of-offtopic rant, I wanted to vent somewhere about this topic. I hate it here lol.

no thank you for it its so important to hear this! its exactly why it bothers me so much and even so many american leftists here know nothing about the mexican border and how we have contributed to mexicos destabilization
