It's a word that sticks in her mind. A word for a feeling, a state, she's never felt. Even among her family, never quite safe, never fully at ease - for who she was and who they expected and demanded him to be were two very different people, indeed. To those in her hometown, she was different - an outsider, not truly of the place where she was born and raised.
But here, in this strange forest clearing, surrounded by all manner of beasts, she feels a strange peace. A feeling of being welcomed, a feeling of belonging.
