Just finished the yorknew city arc for the first time and it was awesome.
But I'm not too sold on Greed Island just yet
After Heaven's Arena it was fun having the whole gang back together for such an extended arc (or at least for the back half of the arc after Gon, Killua, and Leorio managed to get out of the B-plot lol). I love all four of the main crew! It was great to spend more time with Kurapika and see his cool new powers and his resolve against the Phanton Troupe. And Leorio was there too! Love that guy.
But now I'm three episodes into the Greed Island arc, and half the squad is gone again. Not only that, but we get a message from Ging basically telling Gon "hey kid this isn't gonna advance your main plot so just have fun :)"... And then like half an episode of new rules just for the game. For the first time in the series I found myself kinda disengaging, dozing off in the middle of an episode...
Ugh. Idk I'm worried that this is gonna be like the Dark Tournament from Yu Yu Hakusho and completely kill the pace of the show for me. At least the Phantom Troupe is still around, and Gon and Killua developed some new techniques, that's pretty cool... But I miss Kurapika and Leorio already ;^;
