i have seen at least 30 people publicly worrying that they will never be popular on cohost unless they can do silly shit with css

at the moment, the above chost has 55 comments. that is mindblowing. that is absolutely the largest number of measurable interactions i have ever seen on this website. in twitter terms, this is like getting 20k faves. by cohost standards, this is blowing up. this is viral.

it's just a cool photo. it could have been taken in 1975. you do not need to know css to post on here.

I’ve seen @flowerpower’s notification page. She regularly hits ‘99+’ notifications multiple times a day, that’s just where it stops counting. Especially if she’s posted cat based memes. Just because cohost (on purpose) obscures publicly visible interaction counts, dosnt mean that it’s impossible to be viral or quote unquote successful here, if that’s something you care about. It’s just hard to tell if something is viral.

The CSS crime meta was an artifact of this site having a heavy webdev tech nerd bias with its closed beta users. Its over. Cohost now has 100,000+ users or something silly like that, it truly is “just a website” now. Just do good posts™️

that’s right, you have no idea; interaction counts are between @staff and @g-d

That is simply fantastic.

While this may be somewhat of a common trick, this is probably the best execution I've seen of it. The composition that directs the eye, the perfect crop, the very surreal blending of the reflection and the paint in the lower half. Something that you keep looking at as your brain struggles with it.

I can parse the ground and the puddle so clearly but it took so many times looking at this to get my brain around the fact that it’s just, upside down to get the buildings and car right side up. Fantastic job.

I was initially worried about the same before the biggest wave of people came through, but as soon as all my friends (and many acquaintances) got activated last week, I've seen good posts of every single type imaginable to calm my fears. I mean, there's even stuff like markdown plus that lets you do smaller CSS shenanigans without knowing any code. I can tell that, for the most part, people don't WANT the site to be just CSS crimes, so undoubtedly there's lots of room for cool shit

like a very nice picture of a puddle
