cohost feels like a good low-pressure place to share some of these; various marimon ideas that i either didn't finish or just wound up not liking. idk if they'll be revisited or not but i do think it's fun to talk about the process with stuff like this!
This one started with the idea of something with a fake shark-fin poking out of the water, and kinda turned into some kind of junkyard dog that ate rusty wrecked ships? i lost the plot with it
Marimon! Marimon is a fishing-themed monster-catching setting inspired by GBC-era games, small toys, the gulf coast, and whatever else my brain distills into it. It was/is my main thing for a couple years now, though currently I'm taking a break from it.
In the past (by which I mean on twitter) I was always anxious about posting the full lineup of marimon designs together like this for fear of art theft by bots and whatnot. Buuuuut since cohost is a lot smaller and isn't riddled with bots, I figured I'd put em up here.
