So the dialogue engine I've been using for Virtue's Heaven has bug in it that occasionally makes the game lock itself up.
I found the bit that seems to cause it, however when I removed it to test, if it's responsible for the crash, it somehow turned the text into gibberish?
Now the question is: Do I just keep that way and have all the NPCs talk to you in a language you just don't understand?
Also I can't believe that I unintentionally invented simlish.
The part that causes this whole mess really seems to be responsible for the game crashing, however even when it crashes it never seems to actually trigger?
Yet completely removing it all not only makes everyone speak regular again (I leave it up to you if that's an improvement), it also doesn't seem to cause the game to crash.
At least from what I can tell. One issue I have with this is that it's not 100% consistent. However the bits that always seemed to cause the game to crash don't anymore?
Weird!
Anyway, if it's not causing any further problems, I'll either have the game's main character talk in broken dialogue box, or put someone named "Meih Vibrog" in it that talks like that. Also Meih Vibrog is just such a good fake word.
