me, gasping, withering to nothing: I remember when the world was young and VGA was new...
One of my favorite games is looking at the ebay Vintage Computers & Mainframes section and seeing how long it takes to find something that makes me go EXCUSE ME
just checked and the second result was a minitower with a pentium-100 in it
not only do I remember the first computer I owned more powerful than that, it was like the fourth computer I owned
Sometimes we’ll make a post like “Don’t you just love retro games? :)” with a photo of Uncharted 2, because reminding others that they’re getting old means we don’t have to think about how we’re getting old too.
every day time blasts my weathered bones further. i've seen people describe the 360 and ps3 as retro and it makes me want to fade away
Does that mean we're older than the dinosaurs if we remember DOS based games and the original Monkey Island, and others like it, were our first experiences?
We grew up with the Game Boy, back when you didn't have a back light (it was sold separately as an attachment item) and Pokemon was still in Gen 1, just starting to gain popularity.
Nowadays, the youngsters are so spoiled when it comes to graphics. But we remember when the N64 was considered GOOD. And games like Harvest Moon 64 were considered niche (replaced these days by another series. Also, Farming sims have really exploded on the video game market now?? With at least 3 coming out on the Switch next year alone!)
