- this thing is so big that it looks fake
- the only people who are going to buy it are VFX professionals and machine learning developers

you say this until every AAA game requires it bc its the only thing the studio assumed ppl would have
and gamers who don't realize they're telling me they want to be robbed
I find it wild it covers over every single other slot. It demands to be the only thing plugged into the mobo, and requires a brace to avoid sagging. Which, thinking about it, I guess is Nvidia's revenge for people not accepting SLI.
I wonder if the standard PC motherboard idiom where the board is vertical and the cards hang out sideways will wind up changing just to accommodate this card
aren't they cannibalizing Quadro sales this way? ostensibly the VFX pros and ML devs ought to be using the pro-grade cards, so it's weird that NVidia are leading with a card nobody but pros will need. Then again, they are leading with an extremely expensive card during a recession because they assumed 2020-esque demand is gonna remain forever.
yeah idk too much about the internals of the GPU market structure but my impression is that the positioning of the RTX 3090 is "The Quadro That Costs A Modest $1,800"
Have you seen the board partners cards??? They're out of their minds! When your card comes bundled with a standing stick you failed... or Nvidia failed? 🤔
