sometimes you spill a soda into your keyboard and then, after fully disassembling it down to the PCB + plate (which are soldered together, so getting them apart is a multiple-hour process), rinsing it thoroughly under the faucet in the kitchen, driving the water away with a generous dousing of 91% isopropyl alcohol, letting it drip-dry for a bit and then leaving it to fully dry overnight, you get back to your computer in the morning and everything is working about it except, say, the enter and \ keys have switched places
if this happens, open up the firmware configurator and check to see if your keyboard is convinced that that's actually where those keys live, because apparently that's a thing it can randomly decide under some circumstances
anyway my keyboard needed to be cleaned so I'm not even that mad about all the time I spent on cleaning it
