there's an electronics youtuber I like a lot named carl bugeja who builds a lot of different machines using flexible PCBs and flat coil actuators. this time around he fabricated actuators with a sticker backing, and used them to motorize origami sculptures. amazing idea.

When I first started college, I wound up taking a robotics course and learned about piezoelectric materials that could be bent and then electrified to have them unbend. My thought had been to try and use them like muscle fibers in a very small robot like a water strider, and I even went as far as buying the wire online (it's pretty cheap), but then I wound up working on something else.
I wonder if the same sort of thing could work for moving oragami?
