the prehistory of cohost as a not-for-profit patreon clone has been mentioned publicly a couple of times now1 but the pre-prehistory of cohost is that I wrote a polemical tumblr text post, about how operating a platform for creative works for-profit is morally indefensible, that I never managed to edit into readable shape

god... so many times ive been high and thinking those exact things and lamenting that it will never happen because i dont have the skills to make something like that.
